Alvarado High School’s choir has six members who have advanced to the fourth and final round of All-State choir auditions.
At the third round of tryouts, Kyle Hendrix nailed down second chair in the Bass II section, Dylan Garrett and Alex Mei took the top two chairs in the Bass I section, Patrick Eaves took first chair in the Tenor II section while Aaron Wardlaw and Brandan Turner took first and fourth chair respectively in the Tenor I section.
Hendricks earned all-state recognition last year.
With their performance, they earned a trip to Midland for the All-State Choir finals on Jan. 6-7.
“All six of these guys are great singers, excellent musicians, and fine young men, choir director Edward Smith said. “We are extremely proud to have them in our program. They have worked diligently on their own time, and they have taken to heart the suggestions from their directors.
“Each one is highly intelligent and understands the level of commitment demanded to be named to the All-State Choir.”
