Alvarado High School’s colorguard took another unprecedented step toward excellence as 24 of its members earned All-American status and were named to the All-American Halftime Show cast for the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl halftime show in Orlando in January 2018.
The team members were chosen after meeting the criteria during summer workouts at the high school.
“I am super proud of our Alvarado colorguard members,” coach Estelle Gravois-Murr said. “They continue to go above and beyond as both equipment technicians and performers.”
Although they all qualified and met the criteria the students travel to Florida individually not as a team, much like athletes who are chosen to play in an all-star game. The All-American Halftime Show performance cast consists of dancers, cheerleaders, pom squads, drill teams, twirlers and band colorguard members.
Alvarado students who have been invited to participate are Hannah Blair, Jessica Cheatham, Maddy Davis, Jaden Dupree, Erika Foster, Emily Greer, Alyssa Gibbins, Erica Gibbins, Abbie Hardy, Indra Hernandez, Marissa Jackson, Leighton Meyer, Brooklin Miller, Calley Moss, Evan Murr, Kaleigh Norrid, Reese Pate, Mallory Sauter, Alexxes Toomer, Hannah Underwood, Hayley Underwood, Hayley Valdez, Jessica Wager and Mikkaela Zielinski
