Students at Lillian Elementary School recently planted a garden that included everything from vegetables like broccoli and brussel sprouts to herbs like thyme and oregano.
Several teachers attended a training in March where they made contact with Dr. Lori Rose from Hill College. Dr. Rose, who in a Life Sciences instructor at Hill, visited with teachers about how to use the garden to teach any subject.
“We are thankful for all the people who helped make this happen,” LES teacher Linda Quiles said. “The whole experience was great, our students were so enthusiastic about learning how to garden.”
