Early Childhood Education

The Alvarado Independent School District provides early childhood programs to prepare students for kindergarten and to have them reading on grade level by the end of third grade. Program instruction will emphasize language, early literacy and math outcomes for early learners, which are best achieved through activities that are integrated across different content areas. The District provides language, early literacy and math instruction in four-year-old programs.

Early childhood education is vitally important to your child’s development and school-readiness. “If you want a college and career-ready high school graduate, you must have a kindergarten-ready preschooler.”(Dr. Kent P. Scribner)
