Alvarado High School’s band had an impressive showing at All-Region auditions in December with 26 students earning All-Region honors and 10 earning All-Area honors.

Those earning All-Area honors advance to the final round of All-State auditions set for this weekend.

Among other region schools, the AHS band earned the most all-region and all-area selections. AHS scholars earned three All-Area first chair placements and three of the top four All-Area euphoniums were AHS scholars.

“Our scholars were impressive at the All-Region auditions,” director Patrick Dietz said. “Earning All-Region and All-Area honors is not easy. It’s a long, arduous process that is on top of what they’re doing during the fall marching season. Each of the scholars who earned a spot should feel proud for their accomplishment. I know it makes me proud to be associated with a program as successful as we are.”

All-Area honors went to oboe player Carter Manning (1st Chair), clarinet players Brianna Hilts and Alicia Grace, bass clarinet player Jessica Cuellar (1st Chair), trumpet player Bryelle Thompson, french horn playerAbigail Garcia, euphonium players Wyatt Linder (1st Chair), Gael Moncada, and Colton Riggin, and tuba player Carlos Diaz.

All-Region honors went to Kynleigh Brown (flute), Dolores Barcenas Suarez (oboe), Madeleine Oster (bassoon), Karla Lopez (clarinet), Breanna Riggin (clarinet), Josie Boehm (alto sax), Bryelle Thompson (trumpet), Trevor Stevens (french horn), Kaylen Nichols (french horn), Lilly-Ann Taylor (french horn), Monica Velazquez (trombone), Cooper Krysko (trombone), Franco Flores (trombone), Daxton Peoples (trombone), Toby Tackett (eupohonium), Braxton Wright (tuba), and Rafael Fonseca (tuba).

The region consists of 27 4A and 3A bands across the greater Fort Worth area.
