The Alvarado ISD School Board has been selected as the 2026 ESC Region 11 winner of the School Board Awards Program, sponsored by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA).
“We are fortunate and blessed to have an exemplary Board of Trustees,” said Dr. Kenneth Estes, Alvarado ISD Superintendent. “They volunteer countless hours to ensure excellence in every area of our district! Our Board understands the importance and impact of exceptional governance and stewardship!”
The Alvarado ISD Board of Trustees was recognized for its commitment to serving scholars, supporting educators, and leading with vision and purpose. Through strategic leadership and a focus on continuous improvement, the board has helped create opportunities that positively impact scholars, staff, and the broader Alvarado community.
“What a great honor to be nominated by our district,” said Tom Head, Alvarado ISD Board of Trustees President. “Through team building and training, the board continually works to improve. The AISD Board is blessed to represent Region 11 as the 2026 School Board."
As the Region 11 representative, Alvarado ISD now joins 19 other regional winners from across Texas. From this group, TASA will select five Honor Boards, with one ultimately being named the 2026 Texas Outstanding School Board.
All regional winners and state finalists will be recognized during the TASA/TASB Convention this October.
