Walking the halls of Elementary North on Wednesday would have had visitors believing it was Halloween as third grade students presented their Living Museum.
Students dressed up as famous characters in history and when prompted (by pushing the button on their hand) they read off facts about that person. Students and staff heard from historical figures such as Cleopatra, George Washington, Clara Barton, Harry Houdini, Christopher Columbus, Davey Crockett and many more.
“Our third grade students have been working on standards about research, sentence structure in writing, oral presentation and historical figures,” principal LouAnne Stevens said. “It ended with the task of students sharing their findings about important people by taking on their personalities and speaking about their lives. Our kids were so impressed that our first graders created their own museum on the playground at recess!”
