Alvarado High School junior Diana Velazquez competed in the second round of All-State auditions recently and advanced to the third and final round in January.

Velazquez, a two-time all-state choir member, earned first chair honors in the alto section.

“Diana is an extremely hard worker and is a great leader in our choir program,” AHS assistant choir director Adam Thomas said. “Not only is she very talented, but she is humble and demonstrates what it means to be excellent in choir every day.”
