Nearly 700 pre-packaged boxes filled with school supplies were handed out at Alvarado ISD’s annual Back to School Bash on Thursday, August 5 at Alvarado Junior High.

Families were also able to visit several community vendors which included local churches, area dentists, health and wellness advocates, Tarrant County Food Bank, the Alvarado Lions Club and many more.

Before picking up school supplies, backpacks and going through the vendor area, parents had the opportunity to visit with the school district’s nurses, technology department, transportation department about buses and child nutrition about free and reduced meal plans.

The Texas Department of Health was also on hand to help with vaccinations and gave 33 immunizations to scholars, including seven COVID-19 vaccines.
