Alvarado High School's Golden Warrior Band placed 17th at the UIL State Marching Band Championships in San Antonio.
The appearance at the state competition was the second in a row and was just the second in the school's history for the Golden Warrior Band.
The Golden Warrior Band reached the state competition by placing fourth at Area in Liberty Hill on Oct. 29. In that competition, the band entered the Finals in seventh place and needing to be in the top five.
