Alvarado High School choir students competed in the second round of All-State auditions on Saturday and two of the four advanced to the third and final round in January.
Diana Velazquez (alto) and Seth Boterf (bass) claimed first and sixth chairs, respectively, in their sections while Kennedy Peak is the first alternate alto, and Allison Price is the second alternate soprano to the January contest.
“We are proud to be associated with these four young musicians,” director Edward Smith said. “We wish them all the best as they each move one step closer to their goal.”
